The day started with practically feck all and by midday I was on the brink of giving up but then the weather sites just started to report a few 20mph+ gusts so I decided to have a look. (I needed to drive to Worthing anyway at some point to pick up my repaired 5.2).

Glad I did. A decent sail in an up-and-down wind, but enought well-powered-up moments to make it good, and some nice waves as well. Reluctantly I put up the 6.6 to start with but by the time I had rigged and walked to the water it had really filled in proper so after only a few runs I came in to change down. The wind strength then fluctuated a lot under passing showers - at times it was solid 5m weather for 20 minutes, then almost nothing, then 5.8 well-powered again. Unlike some I kept on going through the lulls though and was rewarded with a good long session; not all that special in terms of the conditions, but after a fair while of no action just great to be out there and well-powered, especially with the temperatures being so mild.

The only downer of the afternoon was terminally damaging my new-ish 24cm fin whilst coming in through the shorebreak. It must have still been of use to someone though since bizarrely whilst I was on the water it was nicked from where I had left it to pick up later, along with (more annoyingly) my flat-head screwdriver. Very odd.
